Gov. Gavin Newsom on Saturday called for the legislature and attorney general to create a bill that would allow private citizens to sue gun manufacturers and distributors.
The statement came in response to the Supreme Court’s decision to allow Texas’ abortion ban to largely remain in place.
In the statement released Saturday evening, Newsom said he was “outraged” by the Supreme Court’s decision, saying it was “largely endorsing Texas’ scheme to insulate its law from the fundamental protections of Roe v. Wade.
